Quinnipiac vs Christopher Newport for pre-law/political science

We are down to deciding between these two colleges for pre-law/political science. Looking for all all around campus based college experience with greek, sports, nice campus etc… Thoughts???

Have you visited? “Nice campus” is in the eye of the beholder. What I think is nice, you might hate!

Does net price and affordability differ and matter? Remember that law school is very expensive.

Where are you from?

CNU is highly rated for campus, food, dorms, etc. although you may not love the immediate surrounds.

My nephew lives near - it’s a gem (I stopped on the way to see him, really nice campus) - a very small W&M  But it’s student population is very local - more than 90% in - state - and I suspect (VA is a big state) but don’t know that a big chunk is from Richmond and East (local to the Norolk/Hampton/Va Beach) area.

For pre-law, you can study anything - and anywhere - so take that out of the equation (other than the financial factor which does matter).

Where would the student be happier after visiting? That’s where they should be.

I remember  I’m a lawyer !
Net price for the two after aid is fairly close, QU is going to be about 7k more

from maryland. I will check those in=state/out of state student population statistics for both… good call. I am a lawyer so I have all that part down and not worried about law school yet!

I imagine Quinnipiac is more regional and CNU more - in state.

College Factual (3rd party so check it) shows the following for Q which sort of backs this up.

Connecticut 494
New York 483
Massachusetts 362
New Jersey 322
Rhode Island 53

For CNU, the school shows a couple years ago 95% / 5% - but Maryland is almost in state

Freshman Class Profile 2021 (cnu.edu)

They show for CNU:

Virginia 1,130
Maryland 23
New York 8
New Jersey 6
North Carolina 6

You may have more economic diversity at CNU and more regional diversity at Quinnipiac.
