I was wondering if one can quote a sentence from a book in their statement of purpose? I found this very nice sentence, but I just don’t know how to put it in my words. However, it shows that I did my research on the subject, and that quote fits my perspective on that particular topic very well. What should I do? Will I be subject to plagiarism at all? Thanks!</p>
<p>As long as you properly cite the quotation, you cannot be accused of plagiarism. I quoted Richard Feynman in my personal statement (that only a couple schools ask for), not in my statement of purpose. If you think it fits, however, by all means! :)</p>
