How do you get something a poster said to be highlighted in a box so that it stands out more easily and is distinguishable from your own response?

you put
at the back of it and it works like magic!

oh dang, it worked too well. OK you put these brackets [ … ] around the word ‘quote’ at the front of the piece and the same brackets with a slash before the q in quote [/ word that starts with q] at the end of the piece. No spaces in between the brackets.

I’ll try it with the word wrote instead. [wrote] then the piece that you are attributing [/wrote] See?

Thanks @ucbalumnus. I knew how to quote, but I didn’t know how to incorporate a poster’s name.

Heck, I’ve been quoting for years, but never could figure out how to attribute a quote. Let me try.

BWT… thanks! Sometimes it just takes someone else explaining it to you in a way that you haven’t heard before.
