<p>For those of you who have experience with Res hall, do you know if alternates are taken in often?</p>
<p>one of my friends who got alternate did not get RA this year
but one of her friends was RA this year after being picked alternate</p>
<p>i think it is just luck of the draw really and depends on who turns it down and my firned asked the RA who interviewed her and she said that there is a ranking list</p>
<p>My current RA was an alternate last year (she’s a sophomore). It just depends on if spots open up because people drop. Unforeseen circumstances always come up, so keep with it. You should give it a shot. I’ll see you at the seminar orientation :)</p>
<p>I spoke with several current RAs I knew who helped interview. They said that many people drop out, so people on the alternate list often have a decent chance of becoming an RA.</p>
<p>you still have a decent chance. but definitely plan a backup. I know one RA who got accepted during june.</p>
