Does anyone know how the race/gender ratio is achieved? Also does Yale admit a fixed number of students according to their state (i.e. say the top 100 students appy to Yale, but they’re all from Cali, does Yales, with a hypothetical limit of 100 take those 100 students or do they take a number from each state). If they do go by the state, is it the same # taken from each or is it by something else like population/electoral college #? Also for gender and race, does one gender of one race compete only with their respective categories in their respective states, or are they all random from all states, or do guys still have to compete/worry about girls. Plz answer this question, I want to know my chances for Yale.

Yale DOES NOT use quotas. For example, Yale does not say “we will only take X amount of people from California,” or “we have to have X percentage of minority students.” Yale also does not have a set number of male and female acceptances. HOWEVER, Yale certainly takes these factors into account, and it tries to have balance. So, while Yale does not insist on a 50-50 female-male ratio, for example, it will try to have as balanced of a class as possible.
