<p>Is the major power group at top law schools and beyond (big law firms) mostly dominated by WASPS? </p>
<p>The majority of the student boy of Harvard Law seems mostly of WASP background (I’m not saying/implying anything is bad. I’m just pointing out a relevant information about race). Are other schools more diverse? </p>
<p>How do minority kids (african-american, asian, hispanic) at elite top law schools do during recruiting times. Are WASPs preferred much more than racially different people?</p>
<p>Minority representation at most top law schools is very strong and often exceeds the country’s actual demographic representation. In general, recruitment is not an issue. You’ll find that the lower ranks of top law firms are quite diverse in terms of gender, race, etc. However, many people have pointed out that senior management and partners at these top law firms do have very skewed representation. You’ll find far fewer minorities and women at the partner-level on a percentage basis than you will at the associate level.</p>
<p>If you are not aware of it, WASP and caucasian do NOT mean the same thing. WASP stands for White Anglo-Saxon Protestant. Jews and Catholics are not WASPs. Even many Protestants aren’t WASPs because they are not of Anglo-Saxon heritage.</p>
