In the fall of my sophomore year, I got a 189 PSAT score (32R/32W/27.5M) I would like to qualify for national merit for my state which is Alabama. I am currently using Khan Academy (1 hour a day) and Barrons to raise my score over the summer.
Starting so late, I was wondering is even possible to achieve national merit? What else could I do or should do to raise my score?
Yes, it is possible! I would keep doing what you are doing, and know that even if you don’t get it that you gave it your best shot, and you also will be learning a lot.
I don’t think you’re starting too late, you have this whole summer to study for the PSAT and you can actually study for the SAT as well, since studying for one means studying for both. Looks like Alabama semi-finalist is 215 so you do have some ground to make up, but you already took the test in tenth grade so you’re a little ahead of the game. Focus on math as there’ some room there to improve.
find out where your mistakes were …
215 is attainable there is a thread with people raising 30 points laying around somewhere.
Still boils down to top 1-1.25% so no its not juat easy peasy.
