my CR score ranges from 600-670
when i get about 17 wrong i get 600, and when i miss 9 questions, i get about 670…
my goal is to get 700+, and i definitely need to get that score by the october test…
i do pretty well on the sentence completion, short reading passages, and the 6-7 reading passages.
my problems are the long double passages, and the other double passages with 12 questions.
sometimes i even miss 6 out of 12 questions
and sometimes i only miss 1-2 questions out of 12.
i really want to improve on the reading passage part so i can get at least a 700 on the verbal part.
does reading TIME, New Yorker, and Discover magazines help a lot?
would reading novels help me on the long passages?
im not sure how to study, but if i do find a way im sure i can put a lot of time till the october test

so, is raising 30-100 points on the verbal section within 2 months a reasonable goal?

Well, basically… For the double passages, I like to split them up and work each question individually. You’ll notice that any question that follows some sort of sense like “The author of Passage 1 would most likely tell the author of Passage 2… yada yada yada…”. There are variations of that type of question where the two passages and their authors “link” together. First off, whatever is NOT in the passage is NOT true, so eliminate any answer choices that may have that. Secondly, look for information that IS true within the answer choices. You’ll probably find at least two (maybe three). Next, eliminate your last possible answer choices by asking yourself whether it is relevant to the question or not. Believe it or not, some of those answer choices can make no sense at all (on purpose) just to confuse you! I hope this helped. Post back if you have any questions regarding anything in my post!

thanks for your reply krabble(?)
other than doing problems (i will do that too, but)
what stuff can fundamentally raise my reading skills, in your opinion?

In which order do you guys approach the CR sections?
Read long passages first before doing the SC and short or some other combination?

just simply in the order of the test
sometimes when i read the long passages, i dont know what the point is…
