Raising money

When people always say “raise a lot of money for an organization”, what do they mean? Thanks!

They mean $100.

LOL

what? its a serious question

There is no answer for that question.

If it was truly a lot of money, they’d probably state the amount

“a lot of money” means:

public K-12: $1,000’s
private K-12: $10,000’s
elite prep school or college: $10,000,000’s

I know someone who raised $5300 for a local charity. This kid is naming the amount on her college apps. Her guidance counselor told her that it was “on the cusp” for a named amount.

A Texas school district donated thousands and thousands of old textbooks for my niece’s Girl Scout Silver Award project. She wanted to ship them to an African country. She had to raise around $30,000 to pay for it! She got her church involved, and they were able to raise the money. She was in 9th grade when she did this. Her brother did the same with old computers for his Eagle Scout project, but I’m not sure how much he had to raise. Those kids amaze me.
