Raising my score from 1740 to 2100

Hey guys, this is my first post on her so bear with me.

My SAT score is a 1630. I know the title says otherwise, but hold on. I took a practice test at my school 2 weeks ago and got a 1740. I’m really upset with myself about both scores and I that know the score increase is hard, but I am seriously willing to work for it. I didn’t sign up for any tests yet and I’m a junior.

The breakdown for the actual SAT:
Critical Reading: 480
Math: 590
Writing: 560 and 10 on the essay

The practice SAT:
CR: 510
Math: 540
Writing: 690 and 12 on the essay

I took this SAT in October and, to be completely honest, I didn’t study for it. I thought I would do well because I get high As in my honors classes and high Bs to low to mid As in my AP classes (naturally).

I am not going to take a prep course because I’m trying to save for college incase I do not get a scholarship, and my brother didn’t really gain from them (but he was a genius who got a perfect score on the math portion of the SAT and a perfect score on the SAT Chemistry subtest). My brother and j are not close, so he cannot help me, and even if he could, he doesn’t live in the same state as I do.

I know that having a score increase is hard, but I am really willing to work hard for it. Please suggest ideas and give me plenty of suggestions, tips, and tricks especially for the critical reading section, since I’m failing at that.
