I’d like to hear personal accounts of people who have taken the ACT/SAT more than once and were able to bring their scores up(any amount). How exactly did you go about doing this? What prep material did you use ect? How do you feel about each test individually? Was one harder than the other for you? Ect. Please leave comments!
ACT twice. The first time I had a studying unit at school that helped us prepare. We were given a lot of english assignments and our grammar was perfected. We also took practice tests in each category. I also did three tests from the big red ACT booklet. Here was my score. Talking AP lang really helped with reading and writing.
28C
28 english
25 math
32 reading
27 science
10 writing
I did not study. I took half a practice test the night before. I did worse on english, because I did not study. A great site to study proper english is

I have not done any of the act math in a long long time. It is weird seeing these questions.
I am good at reading, I find it to be very easy. Just read the passage slowly, soak up the ideas and specific word use, and remember the passage when answering the questions.
For science, I did not read the passage. I did not read what anything said except glancingly. Write down trends, differences between studies. Make a trend graph. The science is the easiest to lose time on. Go quickly and accurately through it.
And finally, the most important part. Relax. I know you will probably do well.
30C
26 english - really surprised I went down by two points.
27 Math- Well everything is evened out. I am in Calc 3 through a local community college, so most of this math is a hazy memory,
35 reading- very surprising
32 Science- a good improvement
30- stem, however I do not know how that factors into the score
No writing
