Raising the bar on sad/weird....

Waterford Township woman sentenced for having sex with son | freep.com | Detroit Free Press

There aren't even words to describe how disgusting that is. She deserves her jail sentence just as much as any man who rapes his underage daughter or son. Unbelievable! and we all thought Mary Kay Latourneau was skeevy...

can't even click on the link. don't want to know any more about this.....just atrocious.

wbow, You need to read the article...it's got a plot twist that makes it really really "out there"

can't even click on the link. don't want to know any more about this.....just atrocious.

Sorry, Schmaltz, that's me too. I just can't go to work with details from that on my mind. I won't have a way to get my mind off it and it will bother me all day. The title of the article in the link is enough (too much) for me.

It was a son she had given up for adoption as an infant...she tracked him down, and....yikes.

Next, on Law & Order: SVU . . .

? what the he'll?

I feel very sorry for the boy and for her other children.

It appears the woman had five other children. I cannot imagine being one of those children knowing what their mother did.

Under the article that's linked in the original post, there is are some surprisingly informative comments. Some mention this syndrome in which genetically close relatives who have not been around each other growing up have an odd attraction to each other if they meet later on in life for the first time. And not having been around each other while growing up, some sort of natural tendency to NOT see each other in a sexual way hasn't had an opportunity to develop (the Westermarck Effect).

Also a tragic gallows-humor comment from someone who said he was looking for the incest story on a Detroit newspaper website, but when he instead stumbled onto the the ax-murdering grandmother story, he threw in the towel on catching up on today's local news. Grandmother Accused in Fatal Axe Attack in Highland Park

Another example of the white female offender sentence discount. What would you assume the sentence would be for a black male guilty of the same offense? This is why many Americans of all ages and races have lost faith in the charade of "fair and equal" justice.

toblin, you have struck the nail squarely on the noggin. Although nine years is still nothing to sneeze at.

Photo of the mother: FOXNews.com - Mich. Woman Gets 9 Years for Sex With Son

Schmaltz, the area is just dripping with pathetic women who abuse children. The same community had a high school special ed aide who had sex with students ... and her poor son attended this high school. Not too far from that community was the high school choir teacher who had sex with her students. But the mom in THIS article is the absolute sickest of all. I feel SO very bad for her son.

Yikes, kelsmom; somebody should check the water supply around here (I live just a short distance south of Waterford, and a teacher at my kids' elementary school was convicted of murdering her hubby a few years ago) . People complain about the city of Detroit, but the suburbs around here have their share of strange tales...here's yet another suburban Detroit story in today's papers: http://www.freep.com/article/20100713/NEWS03/100713026/1320/2-men-get-prison-for-keeping-sex-slave

Yup, I saw that one ... it happened not far from the choir teacher.

One more reason to favor wine over water!!

I wonder if the son reminded her somehow of his father.

Well, plenty of us have sons who look like our husbands but we don't .... Yeesh.
