Randall Research Class of 2028

My son loved meeting all of the finalists at the RRS weekend. He’s excited to be selected as a RRS! Even though he really liked Alabama, we are still waiting to hear back from two schools before committing. We haven’t paid the enrollment fee or housing deposit. Anyone know if he would still have a chance at one of the good suite-style dorms? Should we just pay the enrollment fee even if we’re not 100% sure about next year?

Congratulations to your son!

At this point, there’s no urgency to pay the enrollment fee or housing deposit. The huge benefit to paying the enrollment fee and housing deposit is to be able to participate in room selection (as opposed to being placed by Housing), but the deadline for that has passed. If he wants to live in the Honors dorm, he shouldn’t have a problem being placed there. However, Honors housing filled up much faster than usual last year. Good luck as he makes his final decision!

Thanks for your reply! If he does go to Alabama, I hope he is able to get honors housing!

HI! Do you know if students can live in honors housing all four years or if it is just for freshman? The suite style rooms seem pretty awesome. Thanks!

Just freshman year unless the srudent is on housing scholarship. I will say being on campus loses its luster when all of your friends are off campus.
