My niece is a DO. Shes finishing her 3 year residency in family practice and hopes to get a job at Kaiser on Oahu, where my other niece, a podiatrist is practicing.

My mom was an RN, and she looked down on DO’s - but she trained in a hospital many, many years ago when there were significant differences in the MD and DO programs. D’s BIL is a DO who is now a cardiologist. He clearly had the medical school training he required to become a cardiac fellow. Things have changed, for sure.

My PCP is a DO, and I chose her because she takes a more holistic approach to health management than the internist I had before changing to her. I don’t know that it’s necessarily a function of her being a DO & him being an MD. But I am very happy with my care.

H’s new internist is a DO. We were very impressed with her with H’s 1st and only visit so far. She had reviewed his medical records, asked good Qs and listened to the answers.

She even whipped out a letter while we were there which we could send to airlines that she was advising him to remain in Hawaii for medical treatment & not travel. We needed letter to get full refund from airlines for canceling our tickets.

The fee applies to all visitors who need nonimmigrant visas to enter, and cannot be waived.

This sounds like a logistical nightmare to me…especially with the World Cup and Olympics coming up.

Click on the “non immigrant visa” link to see who this would affect.

My takeaway: I should start planning a trip to Montana. Those people sound like fun.

Took a couple of links/search to find it but apparently the data is generated through telephone survey - so while interesting to click through I’d take it with a grain of salt.

Actually, it’s based on CDC data of excessive drinkers and does make sense in many places. Husband and I laughed at the standout state of Wisconsin. We’re trying to analyze San Diego County being red. I’m guessing it’s a combo of craft beer culture, large military population, tourists, and unhoused. Also people who drive as they wish vs rules of the road.

And if you search “CDC Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System” it states that the data is gathered through phone interviews. Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System

I was wondering the same thing as you from the standpoint, I am in MA and we see news stories from time to time that alcoholism is such a concern within our neighbors to the North (New Hampshire predominantly). The chart didn’t suggest that NH is really any different from MA with one exception.

Not Wisconsin?

That many Marines and Sailors in close proximity? Bingo.

So a drunk boater ran into the USS Midway a few days ago, scuffed the paint, and left the scene. He was found over by Coronado Ferry Landing and arrested for boating under the influence and hit and run .

-You sunk my battleship!

-For those unaware: The USS Midway is a museum on the waterfront. Definitely not something you want to miss when you are in San Diego, unless of course you are under the influence and driving a boat in San Diego Bay.

The Midway is a 1,001 foot long aircraft carrier that is permanently moored as a museum, so it is not like it is hard to see.

At the end of the Vietnam war, the Midway became known for having a Cessna O-1 piloted by an escaping RVNAF officer carrying his family land on the flight deck.

Yes, I’ve toured it twice and been on it for the Big Bay Boom.

New Mexico as one of the driest states?!? I would have thought the opposite. That’s… not quite believable.

As much as my H would like to ditch his CPAP, his question was, “What are the side effects?” And when he read that insomnia is one of the side effects, he said that he would much prefer to stick with the CPAP.

Lots of people can’t tolerate CPAP

This gives them another option. Besides the inspire device.

I suspect that insurance will require that you try CPAP and then another option

The pill might be inexpensive, what do I know?
