<p>Due to overscheduling (does that ever change?), have to bring the car to USC Friday (instead of taking metro). For you experienced parents, how early should we get there Friday morning to find parking fairly close by? Also, have to make it from USC to Hollywood during prime time traffic late Friday afternoon. How much time should we allow? Thanks in advance for your help!</p>
<p>I would plan to arrive one hour before events begin on Friday morning. There is usually parking for parent weekend in one of the lots on Figueroa. There should be signs directing you to parent weekend parking. You will need to go to the welcome tent (near the Traveler sculpture) to sign in and get your packet for the day. I worked at the welcome tent and only a small number of parents arrive that early so you should be easy with parking. To go from USC to Hollywood, you should allow 1 hour 15 mins on a Friday afternoon. There are many routes you can take, some of which are faster than others. Check your route as well as traffic jams on the day of travel. We thought parent weekend was one of the highlights of our fall season.
