At our family Thanksgiving the topic of Botox came up as a treatment for migraines. I was surprised when the “youngsters” (27-37 yr olds) spoke up that they had numerous female friends and acquaintances who have used Botox for aesthetic reasons. I was surprised…and saddened.

My PT has Botox injections for her migraines. My sister and niece said they started taking OTC magnesium supplements which caused their migraines to cease. My friend goes to Thai massage for migraines. I’m so blessed not to have migraines! I had some nasty headaches that I believe were sinus headaches but since I’ve been having nasal sprays over the past 25 years, I don’t have headache any more.

My D & her friends have been doing Botox since their late 20’s. Apparently, keeping the wrinkles from ever setting up shop is key. I don’t get it, but that’s not the only thing younger people do that I don’t get.

One of mine does it for her migraines. It works. She has taken magnesium off and on but isn’t diligent about it. Other daughter when not pregnant or nursing gets a little in her brow line. She is extremely frugal so must like what it does.

The economy must be better than what a lot of people think. I just came from a coffeehouse and I counted over 25 people sitting at 2 pm on a Tuesday afternoon. Looked like solo people working or studying and many socializing. This doesn’t take into account those like me who stopped in, ordered and took it to go. My mocha which was delicious was $6.50. They roast their own beans, use high quality dark chocolate and organic milk. A small drip coffee was 3.50 and a large 4.00. They also serve baked goods and I saw some delicious looking things on peoples plates.

Sounds like an economy for people with money to spare.

Thanks for posting this. I just found the director’s cut of the video on YouTube. It’s wonderful!

Oh my gosh, I love that man. Found the clip on You Tube. It will be something I watch often when it comes out. Love it.

I just read something in my alumni magazine that blew my mind. One of the alums is head of cybersecurity for a large corporation. She said that their company experiences an attack on its network every 200 milliseconds. Wow - that’s scary!

I should add that this is a consumer product company, one that manufactures and sells common household products. I can’t even imagine what goes on at banks and financial services companies!

This sounds interesting…though the “could pay for themselves within six years” seems long.

As well as this point: “…a battery storage system can add at least €1,000 to the installation cost.

Here’s a lovely essay about growing up Jewish among Christians. I responded in the comments about my childhood Christmases with Oma and Opa at their apartment on W140th St and Broadway in Manhattan.
