If you take Linear Algebra, Calculus III, Advanced Calculus-based Physics, and Microbiology all in one semester while working 30 hours a week, and you get a 4.0, does that mean you are genius?

if you did at an insane college such as U. Chicago or UCB, i’d say so.

I don’t think you have to work 30 hours a week…it’s still impressive just to take those four classes and get a 4.0.

thank god im not a mathematic/physics major…

dhl u certainly have a false view of a genius. that hypothetical description of a student you gave us wouldn’t be qualified as a genius, but rather as a determined, resolute charachter. people tend to forget what a genius really is, determination. so indirectly, yes, he would be. i believe it was thomas edison who sayed that genius is 1% inspiration, 99% percperation, and i subscribe to his statement.

:-(

thats my exact schedule next spring.

my have quite a few friends who had a smiliar course load at a cc and gotten a 4.0

and i have another friend at UC berkeley having a harder course load and still got a 4.0

they’re really smart but by no means a genius

genius is revolutionizing the aforementioned subjects with newly discovered concepts. getting a 4.0 is hard work, not genius.
