After years of being yelled at by teachers for failing at the random minutia of doing something or another, I wanted to clarify a few things about the application process.

I took the SAT last week and already filled out two of their free score recipients for schools I’m going early action. Do I fill in my other two free score reports now even though I won’t be sending in an actual application until late December? As well, if the answer to the previous is yes, is there any advantage to buying all the additional score reports I need now for the schools I know I will app to in December, or should I just wait?

I have a few clubs that I only joined this year, and I was unsure as to how to fill out the hours log. As of now, I have maybe 3 weeks of experience with them, 5 weeks by the time I submit the early action apps, 10 or so by the time for regular decision, and 30+ by the end of the school year. Which of the above do I actually put down, the intended time, or the fulfilled time?

3.My parents make a bit more than 130k a year, but due to their EXTREME debt, we have actual access to maybe a third of that. Do I put down a request for need-based financial aid, or is that only intended for people whose physical salary can’t support it?

You can mark those two colleges as a free send now. In fact, if you wait, you won’t get any more free sends. You can wait to order others later because cost of sending is the same regardless of when you do it.

Not sure of the kind of question you are answering. Often those are asking for average number of hours per week and should be stated in that fashion. You should not put down time you have not spent doing it even if you anticipate doing so.

Marking the financial aid space on an application won’t get you any financial aid but if you are considering the possibility of actually applying for aid you should check the space. It is on the application form to let them know that you may apply which will require submitting a FAFSA later. That parents make $130K a year does not necessarily rule out aid as it depends on individual circumstances. However, just having extreme debt won’t help to get aid as it depends on what the debt is for. For example, if they are incurring debt to send one of your brothers or sisters to college that would be something considered to determine amount of aid; however, if their extreme debt is due to owning a vacation home, that won’t be considered.
