I was a bit disappointed to have gotten deferred EA from MIT back in December, but looking at it now, it’s somewhat comforting and wholesome. Sure, anyone would have been much more ecstatic if accepted and absolutely devastated if rejected, but being in that middle two-thirds of deferred kids just gives you that sense of community: we’re all collectively closer to our goal than that rejected third. We can see the light at the end of the tunnel just a little bit more, and the fact that we’re with other people experiencing that same feeling gives some sort of Squid Game vibe just after you survive each round.
I am not on drugs.
