<p>WashDad - you know it’s really too bad they had to do that. Do you think people will start bringing stuff from home instead? If they do that, then all the money they’d make by using market pricing will a moot point.</p>
<p>My sister and I had always thought that we had outgrown Coke - liking it must have been a “kid thing”.
Then we had imported Mexican Coke. Tasted just like we had remembered from being young. In Mexico they still make it with cane sugar vs. the corn syrup here in the states. It costs more and we don’t have it very often, but the taste of it transports us back to my grandmother’s kitchen where 3 of us would share a bottle.</p>

<p>I was just checking the guide on my tv to see what time the hockey game comes on tonight, and discovered that J & K plus 8 is on for five hours from 7 til midnight. Looks like I’ll be switching back and forth between that and hockey. :)</p>
<p>I can’t give up bread either. I love english muffin and sourdough toasted along with a good omelet some evenings.</p>

<p>What is it about college girls and Jon and Kate + 8? My D has gotten me interested, too. Such cute kids. But for me, J and K don’t hold a candle to Top Chef. D introduced me to that one last summer, and I’m hopelessly addicted – reading the blogs and googling to find more. Ridiculous.</p>

<p>My random thought: you all can have J & K + 8, Pima and I are addicted to Deadliest Catch and Ice Road Truckers! And we think we have tough days at the office!</p>
<p>My H swears by Deadliest Catch - it even won out over Law and Order a couple of nights ago.</p>
<p>I have such a smile on my face, and yet, tears in my eyes. I finally sat down to read today’s paper and saw an article about a large donation made to a Toronto hospital which is known for their cancer research and care. The donation was $37.5 million which itself would make me smile but I read on and saw that the donors were a friend of mine and her two sisters. This is an extremely wealthy family, obviously, but to meet my friend, you would never have any idea. In fact, when I first met her many years ago, it was months before I found out who her grandfather was, and it was someone else who told me. She is probably mortified that her name is in the paper. I’m so thankful for people like her, and her family. I wish that everyone who will benefit from the wonderful care at this hospital, as our family did when my D was ill, could know my friend and what a good person she is.</p>
<p>We only have broadcast t.v. We’ve always told the kids that whenever they are all gone we’re going to get a big screen and satellite t.v. So, maybe I would like to watch J & K plus 8, too. I’m feeling left out here. Our “baby” leaves for college in August, so maybe H and I will make good on our threat.</p>
<p>timely, don’t just go halfway with just the big screen. Make sure you get a Tivo or dvr. You can watch an hour show in about 42 minutes. Truly my favorite piece of technology.</p>
<p>Alwaysamom - what a wonderful story. Doesn’t restore your confidence in people when something like that happens? </p>
<p>Unfortunately, Timely, there is a good chance that my ADD will kick in the next time I try to do a quote and I will forget to do one of the symbols. If i am not distracted, I will check to see if it came out correctly, but then again, maybe not! See, this is where the whole Coke thing comes into play. With a nice 12oz. can of Coke I can stay focused in the pm. Unfortunately, I have also heard about its impact on bone density and I am really trying to stay away from its “siren call.”</p>

<p>We watch Deadliest Catch while cooking dinner in the summer… all that cold makes it feel better sweating over a hot stove. (I read “A Perfect Storm” the year my D ran summer track here in Texas. I think it helped )
Now that I remember the smileys, can someone remind me how to make those cool quote boxes? Sorry if that was pages back, I just jumped back in…</p>

<p>twomules, I wish you hadn’t told me about the Mexican Coke. I didn’t know that they still made it with sugar there. I remember well when Coke changed their formula. I knew that “Classic Coke” was not the real thing, even though they claimed it was.</p>
