I want to go to USC, but what range of safety and target schools do you guys think I am in. If someone can give me a list or pool of colleges that they think I have pretty good chances of getting in, that would be so much help.

Thank you,

Honestly, I’d need more detail. How many APs have you taken? In what subject areas were those APs? How about subject tests? How much can you afford to go into debt?

Your ECs are fine and your SAT is solid, but USC is a hard reach with the way your application stands. Clearly, with a 4.4 GPA, you’re excelling in school and your courseload must have some honors/AP classes in it, but the type of courses you’re taking also matters. Some additional detail would help.

What did you do for the telecommunications company? What do you want to study? Did you make contacts at USC that might give you a recommendation? Can you afford USC, its one of the most expensive schools out there. USC also offers spring admission instead of fall, to borderline candidates. Students in that situation, who want to start in the spring, can get their own apartment in LA and take community college classes that are 100% transferable, but
then you probably never get back on campus for housing. USC is a big place, are you sure you want such a big urban university?

Presumably a weighted GPA with unknown weighting methodology. Could be a 4.0 with light weighting, or a 3.4 with heavy weighting. So unweighted GPA and type of courses you chose would be more helpful.

USC has a freshman profile on its web site: http://admission.usc.edu/wp-content/uploads/Freshman-Profile-2019.pdf

In terms of safety schools, what is your state of residency, and what are your cost constraints?
