<p>Rank all the majors according to difficulty. Majors that are hard to maintain a high GPA.</p>

<p>Easiest - English/Phil major</p>

<p>Depends on what you are good at. For me, writing is difficult, but I can breeze through science, math, or anything relying on memorization.</p>

<p>All majors can be difficult if you dig deep. But in general, here is my opinion:</p>

<p>Hard majors: EECS, Chem, philosophy, East European history post WWI and WWII, or Middle East studies.</p>

<p>Easy majors: Media Studies or Film Studies</p>

<p>Easy: Anything with studies in it.</p>

<p>hardest: underwater basket-weaving. Those advanced patterning classes are brutal, not to mention the upper-division liquid familiarization sequence.</p>

<p>It’s stupid to criticize the Women’s/Black Studies major without actually having taken one of these courses.</p>

<p>The reading, writing, research in-class debates and presentations are all intense.</p>

<p>It’s no Theoretical Physics, but it’s not a joke major either.</p>

<p>Film and media studies, from my experience in college, is a complete joke and waste of time, at least to major in. In media studies, all you’ll be taught is how to mindlessly follow paradigms and apply it to everything you watch (one of the stupidest things in the world). Useless paradigms that mean NOTHING and only play into the stereotypes they’re supposed examining. As for the creating aspect, film schools are on a kindergarten level, they teach you the “rules” of filmmaking and how to “make it” in the “biz”, completely outdated concepts that have nothing to do with expressing yourself or being an artist in your craft.</p>

<p>In other words, Communications majors are horse****, destroyer of art and actual communication. Avoid at all costs.</p>
