Can anyone elaborate on the importance of ranking?

haha julia? i totally know you…

(ill give you a hint i live on your street!)

but anyway
rank isnt always the most important component.
what is your rank?

Hmm I don’t know of any gay males who live on my street…unless you just came out of the closet and I was never notified? I’m guessing you’re not Peter or Jason, because they seem kind of anti gay…although they could have been anti gay because they were afraid of who they truly were…

Tyler is my only guess? Or who else did I forget? Because I don’t think Ben is gay…hmmm…

Ha. While other spots on my application are strong, I have some weak spots. Rank is one of them. I’m only in the top 20 percent or so, and everyone at Pomona is about 10, right? Bah. I blame it on math.

The Admissions Office takes each applicant’s qualifications into consideration. One element out of whack doesn’t necessarily disqualify you for admission.

Good luck!

Thanks.
I got a bad grade in math my sophomore year due to me taking a different kind of math. I’ve already sent in my application, but do you advise me to send in a short explanation for my grade?

It’s quite possible that your GC explained the grade; admissions officers are pretty savvy about looking at the kinds of courses applicants take. As long as you’ve demonstrated an upward progression in your grades, you should be fine. Just focus on continuing to do well in school since you have to submit your mid-year grades.

Okay, thanks. You’re right, I can only let things work out the way they will and just concentrate on the tasks ahead of me.
