Rank Schools

Hello helpful folks,

Can you please rank Madeira, Perkiomen, Portsmouth Abbey, Chatham Hall, Linden Hall? Maybe Salem Academy and Culver too. A partial ranking will also be helpful to us. For example, if you think Chatham Hall and Linden Hall are about the same, then you can put them together.

SSAT 98%, grades good but she took Adv. Algebra and Adv. Geometry together and is getting B+ in them. It could improve in the second semester. All others are A’s and A+. Center for Talented Youth, High Honors. Gifted Student per PA Ch. 16 testing. Some extracurriculars, school team in some sports but did not win anything. Had one art piece published after a student competition.

We are only looking for schools with merit scholarships and hence the list at the top is what we came up with. Linden Hall has made an offer that is almost full. Are all the schools above better? Some sort of ranking would be helpful. I want to see what many people say and calculate some aggregate ranking from the feedback or get a general idea.

Thanks much.

-P.

I would recommend looking on their websites and going other sites like Boarding School Review and just compare them.

Your daughter’s ranking of those schools will differ from another student’s based on her academic strengths and extracurricular interests. Has she already visited all of the schools in person? I would encourage her to look online at the course offerings and student clubs to see what appeals to her.

Ranked by what? Endowment per student? Proximity to airports? Percentage of faculty with advanced degrees? Availability of merit scholarships? Competitiveness of robotics teams? The ranking depends on what you value most…
