Hi I was just wondering about how all the people out there rank the ivies. I mean I know HYP would always be on the top on any list but what about the other ivies e.g everyone’s after darmouth and Cornell as low Ivies but I would rate them as just behind HYP.So I am posting my rankings and please feel free to post yours.
1.Havard
Yale
3.Princeton
4.Dartmouth
5.UPenn
6.Cornell
7.Columbia
8.Brown
Of course it is entirely subjective but lets see what you guys come up with.

OMG This thread is beginning to heat up.Yes as I mentioned earlier that it is entirely subjective but come on nobody would say that Harvard is worse than say Brown or Cornell. So to make it more interesting y dnt we all also state our reasons for our prefernce like
Dartmouth is no.4 in my list coz I love the undergraduate focus and Blitzmail lol.
n I have nothing against Brown per se but they have a the worst endowment and academics are said to be a ‘joke’ in Brown according to one review but then again it is all heresay.

Based on pound for pound educational opportunities, overall leaders in undergraduate schools, and all-around complete packages, this is my rundown:

Harvard and Princeton are always interchangeable as 1 and 2, Yale is always 3 after them, then comes Columbia which I think is a better overall school in terms of student friendly than Penn, then Brown (Emma Watson!) and Dartmouth, the two forgettable Ivies.

Obviously this is in my opinion, but if I am going into the workforce after 4 years, a Harvard degree in some major is more likely to get more respect than a Columbia degree in that same major. Name is a factor, and if you’re going to look at Ivies, the ones that have the bigger weight are more likely to be better overall schools.

Harvard, Princeton, and Yale are mostly equal, but very different. Same goes for Dartmouth, Penn, Brown, and Columbia. The only common factor in virtually every list (including mine) is that Cornell is at the bottom.

^ I agree with eight28 about how it depends on what the student will personally be studying and enjoy, but I think this thread is ranking the ivies in a general sense
