-Drum Major (Sophomore-Senior)- I hold the record for being the youngest student at my high school to ever fill the position, having received the position at the end of my Freshman year, and have been incumbent since the start of my Sophomore Year.
•Student Mentoring
-I mentor and tutor elementary school age youth at a local mentoring organization that I used to go to as a 4th and 5th grade, helping with homework and providing a “safe space” for these youth to express themselves and their feelings. I have been mentoring since the start of my Freshman Year.
•Community College
-I also attend my local community college and take courses there, due to the fact that I think that my school does not offer a rigorous enough curriculum for my liking. I have completed 22 units so far, I hope to have 40+ completed by the time I graduate high school.

More about me:
•I am bilingual, fluent in both English and Spanish. I learned to speak both more or less equally growing up, but I had more exposure to Spanish. Spanish is my first language.
•I will be a first generation college student, and the first in my family to attend a 4-year university.
•I was born in the United States, but both of my parents moved here from Mexico during the later half of the 1980’s.
•I love world cultures and constantly learning more and more. As my summer project, I am learning how to read and speak German.

Welcome first time CC poster.

For the UC’s and CSU’s, you need to calculate your UC/CSU capped weighted GPA and for the UCLA/UCB your fully weighted UC GPA:

https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/

California public’s cannot use race/ethnicity in the admission decisions but being 1st generation is a consideration.

You look like a competitive applicant but I am sure your realize that your top choices are going to be tough.

For the UC Capped GPA, the calculator gave me a 4.18, and fully weighted I have a 4.61.

Send your SAT score instead of ACT.

Freshman admit rates for UC GPA of 3.80-4.19 capped weighted and not major specific:

UCB: 12.6%
UCLA: 11.7%
UCSD: 38.7%
UCSB: 53.6%
UCD: 56.5%
UCI: 52.1%
UCSC: 75.7%
UCR: 90.1
UCM: 96.1%

Best of luck and SDSU makes a good safety.
