By the way if you’re supposed to waive FERPA and most applicants are under the age of 18, how are people rating their recommendations on “chance me” threads?
FERPA does not mean that the teacher can’t show you the rec if s/he chooses. But in the vast majority of cases, IMO, when a student says their rec is 10/10, they are making assumptions without having seen the LoR. I have seen more instances of users writing “10/10 My teacher loves me” that I care to admit.
They are guessing.
