I know ratio is 3:2 but i don’t know if the fraction form is 2/3 or 3/2
3/2
A/B = 3/2
B/A = 2/3
You do it in the order they ask! If they want the ratio of A to B, that’s A:B = A/B.
If they want the ratio of B to A, then it’s B:A = B/A. They are never ambiguous about what they want.
If it helps, the ratio of A to B is the answer to the question: A is how many times as big as B? So to find that out, you divide A by B. Back when you first learned ratios, some one probably said something like: “A ratio is a comparison using division.” That’s what they meant.
