bustles, how do you know? Did you get a letter?

:(

I just got accepted to Trinity!

…nothing from Barnard :

just got a waitlist letter from wellesley, so I’m thinking probably the same or rejection from barnard. oh well

congrats on Trinity!

The mailman is on our street now, but he come to our house last. I’m at least hoping for my shipment of books if not anything from Barnard. :(

So last night, my password worked and I got onto the RSVP site. Today, I got an acceptance so maybeeee there’s some connection.

BUT!!:

I noticed on the envelope (they use priority) that there was an A1 written and circled on it. That makes me think that there are waves (soon A2, then A3, etc will be sent) and the website correlates with those numbers. So if you couldn’t log on or didn’t receive a letter today, don’t give up hope! And even if you don’t get in, you’ll still be in excellent schools.

Nothing from Barnard OR any books. :(

Ok, Kiddos, it’s lesson learning time. I applied to UChicago, but unfortunately part of my application was incompleted. So when I checked the desicion online Wednesday, I only read the first sentence before being unsurprised when I found out I didn’t get in.

Today I got an envelope from them. It was the same letter, but I saw I was actually waitlisted. Yikes! I almost missed a chanced to get on the waitlist. I’m really surprised since I was considered to have an incomplete application. So let’s all remember to read the entire letter before we react too quickly.

And I got a free sample of Proactive in the mail too. Yay?

cranberrykiss, that makes me fee a lot better! thanks! And thanks for the congrats everyone!

I got into Vassar! No word from Barnard though. Ahh, Barnard’s the school I want to go to the most and the only school I haven’t heard back from yet (with the exception of Ivies, but I’m not really expecing anything). I really hope cranberrykiss’ theory turns out to be true!!

brandnewstate- I feel the same way…hmm, Brown is coming Tuesday and the rest wednesday, this week’s going to be deppressing/possibly exciting. :)

cranberrykisses, I hope you’re right! And congratulations.

Nothing from Barnard for me, either. I DID, however, get a rejection from Oberlin (between this and my Macalester waitlist, I’m choosing to believe that this is fate’s way of telling me I belong in the Northeast, something I’ve known all along) and an acceptance to Franklin & Marshall.

mp - Barnard’s in the northeast
;)

Congrats, brandnewstates! That’s terrific!

I also got into Vassar and Amherst today, but nothing from Barnard. Don’t know if that means anything or not…

On a sidenote, i have applied to many schools (including the ivies and the little three) However, as i believe someone has mentioned before, the girls on this board and the other women’s college boards are by far the most welcoming and outstanding of any of the collegeboards on this site. I would be honored to go to school with you all!

sonjanicky29- aww, that’s super sweet! And Congrats on Vassar and Amherst! I’m waiting on Amherst’ decision :)

I just got Amherst’ decision: REJECTED, now I’m 120% sure I’m getting rejected from Barnard. ugh! BUT accepted at Holy Cross, and FAMU :)

hey everyone- i just read about 30 pages of this forum, because I am, true to the title, incredibly anxious about my upcoming barnard rejection/ admission letter.

this is my SECOND time applying to schools, and spending my days in intervals, sprinting back and forth between the mailbox and college confidential. i swore i wouldn’t get wound up over it this year, but i think it’s pretty much impossible not to. i know in the abstract that rejection letters aren’t the end of the world, but it never seems to sink in.

anyway, i’ve been communicating a lot with the school (first because my teacher recs. kept mysteriously disappearing, then about financial aid), and I know it’s a long shot, but could positive communication mean anything in terms of admission? does barnard just have a really great, compassionate administration, or does it mean that they’re interested in me because they’ve contacted me a) to tell me that my file was finally complete, then b) to ask about my non-custodial parent’s missing tax forms?

i guess the question is a little silly, but i’m really stretching my imagination to keep up a glimmer of hope. plus, i wanted an excuse to post on here. :P

Dont say that Superwoman, lets hope what cranberry said could be likely to occur for us still waiting on a response on monday and tuesday. And you got into two incredible schools. SO atleast you have two to hold onto. Keep your hope.

p.s. superwoman i got rejected from amherst today too… along with 2 other schools… which means i only have 4 left to hear from, 2 ivy league, so basically 2 chances at going to school next year, including barnard.

superwoman, I’m sorry. They clearly do not recognize your amazingness. Shame on them!

Also, don’t lose hope for Barnard - you have accomplished great things and are an incredible lady to boot! :)

electoralgoat, I’m not sure if there is a connection between finaid and admission. But we only have a bit longer to wait. Welcome to the anxiety crew! It must of taken a lot of effort to read it, and for that, you’re awesome. I’m sorry about Amherst and the other rejections; it’s such a hurtful process, so don’t take it personally. Hopefully, Barnard will come through for you. Best of luck!

But I really do not have a lot of faith in the login thing. It seems to me that Barnard really likes applicants to find out in the mail (ex: in the ED thread for this year, calling to receive a decision was only possible after a bit of time). Therefore, since there has been confusion with this login thing in the past, I don’t think they’d want to make it worse…does this make any sense? I’m just speculating.

Let’s keep the hope alive! We, as waiting applicants, are all hope. How? Like this:

Hardworking
Optimistic ![]()
Promising
Excellent

Yay! Love you guys! Let’s not lose what we are! Lol…

lacy1- Thanks! I hope so, seriously after all of this I’m going to feel a huge amount of weight lifted off my shoulder lol. yea, I hope cranberry’s right. :)

electoralgoat- yea, they stink! How could they reject our awesome-ness! lol, my confidence is coming back.

etched- omg, we definetly have to make an award for you/trophy! Instant motivator lol. yes, HOPE, that’s going to be our acronym lol. We need to keep in touch ladies!

p.s. I’m gonna miss this thread. When all decisions are out we should start another thread for where we’re all going and exchange facebooks most definetly! Networking is something even CC can help us do lol. Good luck ladies! No matter what happens April 1st, or whenever we get out skinny/thick envelopes, we can’t forget who we are :)

Superwomen^ Dont fret about Barnard yet. I swear college admissions is basically drawing names out of a hat! I am sure you still have an excellent chance at Barnard!
