RD applicants: don't freak out

i applied and was accepted ED1 to wash u and my stats are nothing compared to the crazy, sky high ones posted on CC. i am also a jewish white girl from the northeast… extremly typical washu appl.icant here they are:

82nd percentile, public high school
1370 SAT1
540 math1 550 us hist 700 writing
i’ve been in all honors/advanced classes, including this year i’ll have 4 APs (one was two year)
as a junior i had two Cs as final grades in ap stats and advanced precalc

not so impressive, right? washu was a huge reach for me. but my extracurriculars and interview were what got me in probibly…
extracurriculars:
key club 9 10
yearbook 10 11 12, editor 11 12
rescue squad 11 12 (one of four junionrs chosen)
also, i created a program that brings food into nyc at night once a year and works with local 7th graders to do so-- developed and still run it.
i did a community service trip ( nothing toos pecial) my junior summer
but the real thing i think that got me in:
i worked at a camp in croatia for two weeks this past summer for kids who had been orphaned/displaced by the wars in balkan europe… that was my essay as well.

when visiting the school i met with the admissions director for my area, not just a senior working at the office.

my message to you-- dont freak.what do you think now about getting in.

what school did u apply ? art n sci? btw, i got into WashU. olin…

my message to you-- dont freak.what do you think now about getting in.

well that makes me freak more…especially since I am from croatia and go there during hte summer and haven’t ever even heard of sucha volunteering opportunity that definitely does stand out in an application…great…lol

what is rescue squad?
