<p>Last year they heard March 25th at 5:00 CST. However, I don’t know if its gonna be the same this year since that was RD last year and this year there are WAY more RD applicants because of the elimination of interim decision. Still, should be soon…</p>

<p>I received an email from rice last year november (2008) that they have recieved my questbridge application and said that they extended the time for me to turn in my transcripts,reccomendations, and rice supplement forms for early decision on november 15,2008. does this means that i was a finalist. does this also mean that rice university was very interested in me and wanted me to apply to their college. later on, they sent me an email that i did not specify whether i was a early decision or regulare decision and so they put me as a regular decision applicant. what does this mean. please help me!!! very important. I would appreciate it very much. thankyou!!!</p>

<p>thanks for answering. u havent completed my answer. was i a finalist or in the match process cause i did not have to foward my application to rice. i got an email from rice saying they had recieved my application.</p>
<p>^it sounds like they were telling you that you didnt submit everything on time so you are now a RD…it has nothing to do with ‘finalist’ but i dont know everything they told you so maybe you are but if you havent been informed of acceptance then you probably were defered…so you are an RD either way</p>
<p>thank you for replying. they said that if i choose to apply, then they would extend my early decision deadline to november 15 instead of november 2. so was that a sign that they are interested in me applying to rice university? they also told me to send in transcripts, supplement form, teacher recommendations which i did. then, late in december, they said i did not specify if i was an early decision or regular decision so they put me for regular decision.</p>
<p>I think rice is interested in everyone that applys so just wait a few more days and rice will answer your question on their interest with either a rejection or an acceptance letter…best of luck though, i can hardly wait for them to decide…i’ve already been to the mail box 3 times today haha</p>

<p>Compared to the other colleges I have experience with, Rice seems very silent about exactly how and when RD decisions will be communicated. For anyone who knows, has this always been the way they have done it, or is this year maybe different because they are swamped and overwhelmed with way more applications? I know of several people who called Rice admissions to ask about this during the past month and between them, they got 3 different answers: 1)the last week of March, 2)April 1, and 3)as late as April 15th!!!</p>
<p>It’s kind of unnerving to think that a decision email could just pop up in your mailbox at any time without warning!</p>

<p>When you call admissions, you may get work/study students. (Just a guess). Rice will notify by updating your info on the website and also by snail mail. Just like last year. Sorry, guys, you just have to wait it out and QUIT bugging the admissions department! The answers won’t come any faster if you keep calling! :eek:</p>
