RD to GSP

i would be glad to be into gsp…i dont get why it has such a bad rep…i mean you’re going to your chosen school eventually anyways, its still NYU and you still have to take those classes eventually so why is everyone freaking out

I found out yesturday that I didn’t get accepted into CAS, but I was offered GSP - and I’m pretty sure I’m going to take it. I know I’m going to need these Libearl Art classes anyway (even if I was in CAS), so why not take them my first 2 years then spread out all 4? I’ll just make sure to stay active with computers (my major hopefully will be Computer Science) so that I dont forget everything by the time my 2 years run out. And since I applied Early Decision, I have the right to study abroud for my whole freshman year! That’d be pretty cool >.>

The way I see it, I wasn’t the best applicant, but they like me enough to offer me GSP - they only admit 1800 students to GSP, so its an accomplishment!

Fell this is last years thread. please post on this years and add your stats (SAT’s GPAs)

does anyone know if they are deferring people into GSP if they applied to Stern?

they are but only like 8 get gsp’ed from stern.

salem1, this seems like just a general gsp thread.

All the pages up until this one are from last year’s RD (regular decision) that’s last April it’s an old thread (and long). Some lucky GSPer should start this years ED to GSP thread so people won’t think the first 19 pages of the thread are class of 2012 (they’re 2011)

Has anyone got into GSP that applied RD?

They have gone through all the RD applications already??

I doubt it though they have probably been through some.

is it possible to be deferred to this program if you applied to the college of arts and sciences but as an undecided major?

Yes it is.

I am praying to get into GSP at least.

just a quick question… Is the GSP program ONLY available to A&S applicants?

No, I think steinheardt and rarely tisch have it also.

I’ve heard that stern sends kids to GSP as well, it’s just that the vast majority of kids in GSP are CAS applicants.

I called 'em today, and the lady has no idea what I was talking about whatsoever (I asked when/if they have already sent out GSP stuff), but apparently all the counselors are busy “meeting” to review applications… 49 days is just too long of a wait.

Not to sound redundant, but class of 2012 (2008 graduates) don’t get confused or panicked about people in this posting getting their “GSP” notices…the thread was started in 2005…they are what juniors now? RD kids will (probably) hear a week or so before regular decisions to out to the “schools”. There is an interesting pattern these last few years for acceptances. The height of which seemed to have been this year’s ED notifications. TORTURE…international kids who got in first, then GSP kids on east coast, midwest and west coasts…then this horrible lull…wild speculations…everyday was THE DAY then maybe a week after the GSP notices the east coast acceptances, midwest and west coast. Rejections seemed to have followed the same pattern a couple days AFTER the acceptances were received. The CC web site was a god send cause we were all wiggin and no one at home or school wanted to hear it any more! Good luck to all of you

Does anyone know when we can expect acceptance/gsp/rejection letters? I was looking back in this thread, and people at around this time started receiving their decisions. Any insight?

jesus this is an old thread
