they should invent a machine that can freeze people for a set amount of time… I want them to freeze me and defrost me by april.

jh2633, sign me up for that too!

WAIT WAIT WAIT…if they know who they want to GSP…shouldn’t they know who is going to get rejected or accepted. If they are doing GSP it only makes sense to decide reject and accept at the same time…(or maybe i’m desperate for a decision)

I just found out I got in also :)

I’m pretty excited - hopefully justly so -
This is actually the first school I’ve heard back from so, makes it all the more exciting.

considering all this talk about this years applicant pool, I’m not sure there is much difference between General Studies and the College of Arts and Sciences and the like…I think it’s safe to say NYU just wants to keep it’s numbers down in it’s other schools.

congratulations everybody :D

congrats jkanark!

but did you get into CAS or GSP?

GSP…I meant to say that =]

what are your stats

I got into GSP also. Got my letter today.

aramin- if you got GSP’ed, honestly, think of it as a blessing. For many people who are put in GSP, it means that they need to fine tune some of their skills, if anything, it makes you more well rounded. Also with GSP (and I know a few kids who are on the Gallatin track), your first 2 semesters are quite planned out, however, with sophomore year you’ll have MUCH more flexibility with your schedule. Call the office of undergraduate admissions and ask about the Gallatin track, or wait until the accepted students GSP info session before you make a brash decision.

If you’re GSP’d are you e-mailed or do you get your letter first?

I just got into GSP today. I must say reading the letter, it makes you feel like you were accepted into the ■■■■■■■■ part of NYU, they’d be well off changing the wording a bit. Not sure if I’ll be attending though, the school’s so expensive and I also feel like I should get accepted into a better school. Can I say I was accepted into NYU or is that a lie?

My stats:
ACT: 32
SAT II: Math 2 - 750, US History - 760
uw GPA: 3.68
7 AP’s and more honors
4 time Varsity Tennis

It’s seems like it’s more true if you actually end up going. Maybe because you’ll have 50 grand in cancelled checks to NYU.(lol) Or maybe it’s that I feel you’d be lying a little if you went someplace else and said I picked this over NYU. But that’s just me, and in no case is it an out and out lie.

Same question as stephi878, but are people receiving GSP notifications through email first or mail?

These seem awfully high for GSP… Did you apply to CAS?

Haha yeah i’m thinking if I’m paying NYU 50 grand a year I should at least be granted the privilege of saying I’m going to NYU. To the above question i recieved my GSP acceptance in a large envelope before I got any email.

And yes I did apply to CAS, got rejected. I’m kinda disappointed since my grades are decent, but i guess the standards are going up. Now I have to wait till April for my response from my other schools.

^both your GPA and ACt’s are pretty high for GSP imo…

HOLY CRAP!! YOU got accepted into GSP??? Dang…I’m scared now…seriously you should have gotten into CAS! A lot of the people who got accepted into GSP had stats that were a lot lower than yours…what was your SAT I score?

oh just kidding…you took ACT…what is a 32/36? Isn’t that around a 2000?

According to Wikipedia (don’t know how much to trust this) but a 32 on the ACT is a 2160-2210 on the SAT.

uhhhhhhh I am VERY surprised…how were your leadership/extracurricular/essay? But still…with those stats you should have gotten CAS
