Re-taking Calculus I and doing far worse

<p>My senior year of high school I took Calculus 1 at a community college and received an A-</p>

<p>I am now enrolled at USC.
I began in Calc II and was getting destroyed by the difficulty, so I dropped to Calc 1 and just decided to retake it (extremely common here at USC to retake the last math class you took prior to enrolling). </p>

<p>As of right now, I have something near a C. </p>

<p>Assuming nothing changes and I finish the semester with this C, what will happen? Will the original A in Calculus 1 from the community college supersede the lower C?</p>

<p>This is stressing me out, and I have intentions of law school, therefore hoping to keep my gpa as high as possible.</p>

<p>Depends on the institution, but it’ll definitely look strange on your record and not in a good way.</p>

<p>If you’re going to go to law school in the T14, you need to avoid any C’s and B’s as much as possible. If it’s not too late to drop and you’re not confident that you can pull a B, get out.</p>
