Hey there, I have a thread here http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/1429260-am-i-doomed.html talking about my personal situation and how it has affected academically and personally.

Brief Summary (this is what it will look like at the end of next year):
2000 SAT
31 ACT
2.8-3.1 cumulative (some grades are still being worked out)
Taken over 6 APs
Involved in ECs for 2 years at school + outside programs
Unique family situation

So with these stats (they are a rough guesstimation of what I will have at the end of next year), what are some reaches for me that have good biology/pre-med programs? What about matches or safeties?

Try using the CC search engine available on the main CC site.

Why would someone who will be pre-med really wanting reaches? When pre-med a student should want to be at the top of his class…not be one who - by luck - got accepted.

What schools are your safeties? Are these schools that you know FOR SURE that you have ALL costs covered? If not, then those aren’t safeties.

what are your match schools?

Keep in mind that many of the schools that give the best aid will require your dad’s financial info. Will he provide that? Will he pay his fair share?

Because obviously I won’t be the top of my class when I graduate HS; I probably won’t be in the top 25%. But that doesn’t accurately reflect upon me. My freshman year grades are the only thing preventing me from being in the top 10%. I don’t believe I’ll get into ivies or any renown undergrad, so thats why I’m trying to see what i CAN get into besides my state school. My dad will cover his share if they ask.

For my safeties (I really only have 1 right now); I have Oregon State, still looking for more.
