Reaching out to roommate(s)?

I got my housing + roommate assignments a few days ago, but I’m not entirely sure when I should reach out or how I should do it. I have two roommates, do I just email them each and include my phone #? I have a draft but don’t know if it’s too short, not enough introduction, etc.

“Hey, I’m [squidink], one of your roommates this year. My number’s xxx-xxx-xxxx, feel free to text me. I’m looking forward to meeting you this fall!”

This sounds so stupid but I figured I’d ask the folks here, since my dad didn’t do the whole dorm thing in college. I tend to come on too strong when I meet people (autism), so I’m trying to tone myself down, lol.

Sounds fine to me but as my kids say, dad kids don’t talk like that. So paging someone a year out … @lilyesh

update: one of my roommates just reached out, guess I don’t have to worry about making contact!

My kids shared their social media accounts with roommates and others (like to students local to them).
