And, the last sentences of the article had me with tears streaming down my face. Now, if only my daughter could figure out her first choice school!

“But stop looking at College Confidential? I can’t do it. It speaks to my deepest desires and my secret fantasy:
An acceptance letter from my daughter’s first-choice school offering a full ride.”

My son just found out that I have posted " a lot" on this site. He was disgusted! I am going to try and wean myself off after he graduates from HS.

Bessie, good luck. I’m still looking for the 12 step program to just lessen the amount of hours that I ‘check’ to see how everyone is doing. I can’t imagine being weaned totally off the site…

Oh, how true. With my daughter’s acceptance in hand, and off to college at the end of August, you would think I do not need to keep checking in. Crack it is. My sister has asked if I will keep her up-to-date on the app process, as her son, a Junior, is just beginning. I think she is afraid to “enter”.

Well, I did give up CC for Lent, but like the true addict, I’m back for more. And, even though Twin1 and Twin2 will graduate in 2 months, I get to stay since DD is a HS junior this year. I’ll let you know when I hit bottom.

I made it almost 30 days once. Or maybe it was a week.

I posted once around my 3000th post that if I was still here after 5000 posts someone should sneak onto the ranch and shoot me dead. At 5000 posts I just bought myself a bigger guard dog.

I am also addicted. I tried to stay away, but it didn’t work! The worst part is, D is going through the whole stupid thing over again (trying to transfer). This time, though, she is many hours away … and I text, rather than call, to avoid the “whoa is me” moods!

My posting even led to quotes & a picture in the paper re: parent recommendation letters … I had my 15 minutes of fame for my family to savor.

And now I’m considering becoming an ACT tutor as a result of my addiction to this whole getting-into-college business. (I seriously considered the test scoring thing, until I got the no-compete contract).

Now, if only Latetoschool would get through her ordeal quickly … MAYBE I can tear myself away …
