<p>I want to start asking for my Letters of Recommendation. I’m not really sure how to ask, so this is the email I think I am going to send one of my professors. Is it a bit much?</p>

<p>I’m not sure if you remember me (which probably is a little silly considering what I am about to ask) but I took your MO3 class in the spring. My name is PETER GRIFFIN.
I just finished up a few summer classes including a most treacherous math class and by some odd phenomena I’ve kept my cumulative GPA at a 4.0. This has led me to look at applying to some schools which never even crossed my mind back in high school. These schools use the “Common Application” system and require two letters of recommendation from professors at school. As you may have already guessed from my less than creative subject title, I was wondering if you could write one of these letters for me.
I’m not entirely sure how the process works, and by all means if you are too busy I completely and fully understand. However, I would really enjoy a letter coming from you, because I can say your class has easily been my favorite thus far. I really found you to be more engaging, and for a lack of a better term, more intelligent then most other professors I have encountered, which is why I think a letter from you would mean a great deal. I was watching a documentary on Earth the other day with my family, and I didn’t notice it, but every time the location around the world switched, I was always able to tell where it was and at least some kind of fact regarding the location. My parents were blown away and confused at how I knew these things, and I suppose the things I learned in class actually stuck with me. I’ve even decided to major in Anthropology, which I suppose can be related to Cultural Geography.
Anyways, if you could get back to me, it would be great.
