<p>I was convinced the first trophy had been an accident. My teammates had pulled me onto the podium in the midst of cheers and camera flashes to accept the golden statute emblazoned with the DECA diamond. I had savored the moment and celebrated with my chapter, but I could not fight the sentiment that the trophy was only a symbol of luck. </p>
