How hot is it in Rice, average?

We have three seasons in Houston. They are June, July snd August. Hot, hotter and hottest.

But on a positive side, you can wear shorts year around.

Hello Jen …

June, July, and August happen to be when the students are not here. So that takes away the hottest part of the year.

The winter is awesome (it may get down to 40 but that’s about it). During the fall and the spring, the temperatures are great (60’s - 80’s).

At the very beginning of the year temperature will still be high from the summer, but they fall soon after. It gets hot in mid April, too. But for the most part, Rice is not in session in the famous hot parts of the year.

Another great thing is that since the Rice campus has so many trees, you are in the shade about 80% of the time you are outside (unless you are walking to the gym or to the stadium or something).

You forgot monsoon season, when it goes from significant torrential downpours to massive torrential downpours
JK, but my s. did say that it poured yesterday, and he drove through 3" of water when he went under I-59. I am still convinced it’s just his ploy to get a new car (since today is his b’day). The rain usually dumps, enough to cool things off and water the greenery. Then the sun comes out again… usually :)

Don’t worry, he wasn’t lying. That was a fun and tumultuous day.

Is that su[posed to make me feel better??? hydroplaning in deep water (if that’s possible…)

swell…

If your son thought Saturday’s weather was bad, ask him about today! It’s been raining about 2 inches/hours since 3 am, and there’s a lot of street flooding.

The worst part of the weather at rice is the humidity. Sometimes it becomes unbearable.

omg i keep on forgetting i have read this. it always gets me with the “read this” title lol

much to my son’s chagrin, his side of town was fine, and the car didn’t get wrecked.
