Whoops i meant English not reading

r these practice tests?

Yes these are practice tests

are you doing them with realistic timing and other test-taking conditions?

practice tests (out of books other than the Real ACT book) are generally harder. any tips? brush up on your grammer/punctuation skills. usually in the practice books, they have a “teaching” section. read that through thoroughly. also, make sure that singular nouns go with singular verbs (same with plural), that the sentences have parallel structure (like if it goes “yesterday, i ran, i walked, and i swim [it should be ‘i swam’]”). with the rhetorical questions, those just take practice. i dont know, i never really had trouble with the english section, becuase i am really good at editing my friends essays. think of it that way. think of it like you are peer editing a paper. if you are able to tear those up, then you will be fine. do as many practice sections as possible. if the timing kills you, do a couple tests without the timing and then add the timing later. since there are 5 essays for 45 minutes, try to limit yourself to 8 minutes per essay (that way you can check it over). so instead of doing a full 45 minutes, do 1 8 minute timed section for the first essay (do it essay by essay). then graduate to 2 essays for 16 minutes. and then 3 essays for 24 minutes, then 4 essays for 32 minutes, and finally the 5 essays in 40 minutes.

just get a grammar book and read over it… and use the relevant ques from the writing section of the SAT…
