Ready To Party.....With Barbenheimer: NO SPOILERS PLEASE

I thought Ryan Gosling was hilarious as Ken and totally deserves the nom. Margot Robbie was great also, but not sure it was quite Oscar caliber (when compared to some of her other roles). Same for America - other than her viral speech in the movie, was there really any depth to her character? Should there have been a nomination for Kate McKinnon?

The nominations are subjective. Lots of people loved Barbie and it touched on a lot of important issues but it’s not typically the type of movie that Oscar rewards - and does it really matter? People have been singing the praises of Barbie, particularly Robbie & Gerwig, ever since it came out. There’s no doubt that it resonated with the ticket-buying public. There’s no debating that Gerwig is a talented director and Robbie and accomplished actress.

It’s unfortunate that the perceived “snub” is taking away from Ryan and America’s nominations, resulting in them having to issue statements. At the end of the day, it’s an awards show. They can’t have 10 nominations per category and only one person (or group) can win each.
