The children regularly engaged in activities (stimulating their curiosity and creativity, which were designed by Wyeth).
My choice: that would stimulate their curiosity as designed by Wyeth
Should be: that were designed by Wyeth to stimulate their curiosity.

The problem is a subtle misplaced modifier. You change the position of “Wyeth” to avoid confusion. Therefore, that were designed by Wyeth to stimulate THEIR curiosity, is correct. Their referring to the subject of the sentence, children.

He is celebrated (for his vivid and haunting images by art historians), many of which continue to be published in children’s books today.
My choice: no change
should be: by art historians for his vivid and hautning images

The vivid/haunting images has to be placed next to the comma, becuase “many of which continue to be published” refers to the images. Lesson: always place modifier next to the thing it describes.

Sorry. I don’t haev time to do the other ones now. Glood luck :)

Your choice is incorrect because Wyeth didn’t design their curiosity.

scrupulous adj 1: having scruples; arising from a sense of right and wrong; principled; 2: characterized by extreme care and great effort [syn: conscientious, painstaking]
Your choice implies that the containment of the notes was scrupulous–that the journals had scruples. Journals do not have scruples–people do–so the action of the people (writing) was scrupulous.

Your choice implies that YOU (as the subject of the sentence) allowed the traditions to flourish by being intrigued by the culture; in fact, the CULTURE allowed this.

Your choice makes it seem as if the art historians continue to be published; the correct choice makes it clear that his images continue to be published.
