i read that this is a very easy specialty for a lawyer to have. Is it possible to work within big oil and help secure drilling zones and big name stuff like that? I’m interested in Stanford and would like to know of any programs on this issue. Any knowledge or advice at all would be very helpful. THank you in advance if your not an ass!

I don’t know that real estate is a “very easy specialty.” Most firms practice it, but the underlying law isn’t any simpler than other fields and it doesn’t require less training (and the current economic situation isn’t causing much of a demand).

It sounds like what you mentioned might have more to do with oil & gas law. I don’t know anything about that except that it’s tested on the Texas bar exam and not in most other places. My guess is that most Texas law schools have classes on the subject and that most other schools don’t (natural gas is booming in Wyoming, but I could imagine not wanting to live/work there if you haven’t experienced that region before)

yea i was thinking i could make a killing protecting the reserves in Alaska or something.

maybe help them drill or soemthing
