I’m a Finance undergrad and I need a little advice. Currently, I’m deciding between a Real Estate minor, a Personal Financial Planning Certificate or supplementing my education with additional Finance, Risk Management and Insurance, Real Estate and PFP courses. I’ve read from many that minors are not professionally relevant (within the hiring process) and should instead be chosen for personal choice. Professors I’ve spoken with have mixed feelings about certificate programs. Georgia State, where I currently attend, offers “three graduate-level personal financial planning programs, including the Master of Science (MS), MBA with a major in personal financial planning, and a Graduate Certificate Program for individuals who already have an MBA, MS in a business-related field, JD, or CPA designation.” GSU also offers the PFP certificate at the undergrad and grad levels. GSU also offers multiple Real Estate graduate programs (MSRE and MBA) and a grad certificate program.

Through RE courses I’ve taken, I’m now qualified to take the RE sales exam for the state of GA which is a distinction I would like to attain. I also have an interest in the CFP and CFA programs but want to attain some field experience before I finalize a decision.

I apologize for the lengthiness but, any advice regarding the best possible supplement for a BBA in Finance is greatly appreciated.
