Realistic List?

I applied for transfer to four schools this year, and was turned down four times. I will likely try again this year, but am looking for help coming up with a more realistic list.

What I am looking for

Strong program in either Finance or Economics

I would prefer the northeast, but will go just about anywhere

Strong job-placement

College Resume

George Washington University

Double-majoring in Finance and International Business

3.5 GPA now, should be 3.7 by time of transfer

High School Resume

2,060 SAT

SAT II’s in the high 600’s

31 ACT

GPA: 3.3 uw, 4.8 w

My high school is one of the best in the country, and is extemely competitive. We usually send over fifty to Ivies or other top schools every year. As I struggle with foreign languages, I received C’s and D’s in them that sunk my GPA and class rank.

Previous Applications

Applied ED to Cornell, got turned down. Applied for transfer to Cornell, got turned down.

My dream school is Georgetown. I applied for transfer and had a very successful interview, but was turned down.

I also applied for transfer to Notre Dame and WashU, but was turned down both times.

Other Information

I am a legacy at UC-Berkeley, but am not a California resident and I heard that they do not give preference to legacy applicants

Northwestern takes a ton of students from my high school, and I live nearby. I do not know if this will help or hurt me.

Transferring Fall 2008

Assuming I get my GPA up to a 3.7, which I am fairly certain that I will, I am looking at the following schools…

Northwestern
Georgetown
Notre Dame
Cornell
Brown

Do I have a shot at said schools, and do you have any recommendations on schools I should be looking at?
