Really Frusturated About SATS :(

Hey i took the December 3rd SAT(im a junior) and Im getting my score tommorow.Im really worried about my score because i know i did very bad. Like my biggest problem was my speed(couldnt finish on time). In Math i omitted like 12 and Verbal 20!!! And in Grammer i think i got most right, but still i omitted bout 14. Overall in Math and Verbal i knew what i was doing in the questions, it was just i couldnt finish in time cuz i proly analyze too much. In Verbal i guess im dumb lol:(.

OK so my question is if i do really bad on these sats, like 1600-1700 prly(cuz of the omitting)?(idk), and then get a 2000 or above in the Spring2006 SAT(I KNOW I CAN GET THT, cuz i have started 2 practice and pace myself every other day now)…will the colleges i applied to(Penn State, TCNJ, Rutgers), be like eww you got a 1650 on the 1st SAT, n be like u r rejected???Or are you sure they will just look at my 2nd SAT(which hopefully will be good)

Uh. 1) You’re a junior. You have a million more test day options ahead of you.
2) >_> that’s a lot of omitting. If you want more than 700 per, then you better start getting more right answers, and less empty ones.
3) But it’s ok. Just get a good score later on. They don’t care if you did BAD on your first one ever. Just… don’t keep taking SATs like 7 times.

thnx bro…made me feel a lil better

How did you already apply if you’re a junior? And if you think you’re score’s too low, you can just cancel it (though you do have to pay a fee for it).

When you omit that many, you’re better off guessing on most of them. You’ll be bound to get more right.

oh mah bad… lemme correct "will the colleges i will* apply to?)

ahhh damn i failed. i got total a 1650!:frowning: :(.
i knewww it. cuz of the big omitting.

so far i didnt click"SEND SCORES" to college.
and i do not want to.

hopefully i will try to do awesome in spring

I’m on the same boat, I got an 1850, and my friend got an 1740, and we’re juniors too, and we want to be in the 2100’s… Don’t feel bad, we’re all unSATisfied.

Don’t worry I pretty much failed the SAT too in October since I got a 2100!!! But then, I literally rocked the PSAT’s about a week later so it’s cool. Just retake that shiz and do pimpin’ on a later date thug.

I got a total of 1790 :frowning: :(

That blows dude. You need to work on timing!! Process of elimination helps there. How much did you practice before you took it?

IHATESAT…i thought you got like, a million 800’s on every SAT and SAT2…were you just bluffing?

evilasiaindictator…You are obviously a socially challenged loser. Go find a volley ball to befriend.

Ummm … why is this thread on the ACT board? Heck, if the SAT frustrates you, see the light and take the ACT :)

One nice thing about the ACT is that you only report the test dates you choose to report. So the pressure is less; you know that if you bomb it, you can simply take it again and no one will ever know. With the SAT it is on your, gasp, permanent record.

yea i knw it blows. i just practiced a few times in the summer, thts all. and i knw i can do much better then a 1650.
hopefully i will break 2000 in spring.

evilasiandictator: a 2100 is not bad. you are making the rest of us feel bad.

IHATESAT: ummm. i thought you had like 5 800s on SAT IIs, and a 2400? umm…

OK.
im askin the pple who got ABOVE 2000…
for me now on, to get tht score…is this the best way for me to get it?

-Read wordsmart and readingsmart 20 mins each day
-Memorize about 5 words from my Barrons sat word flashcards
-Take a 1 or 2 practice tests everyweek
-get an SAt tutor

yes PakiThug thats exactly what you need to do. And if you can fit in like 4 or 5 practice tests a week that will be best. This winter break I’ve been taking one every day. A tutor would really help as well
