Really Low SAT But High ACT??? Does it make sense?

My school pushes the ACT and SAT equally.
(And my school pushes that everyone takes both to see how they do comparably).

The results? Some do drastically better on the ACT, some do better on SAT, and some score equivalently equal on the two exams.

My school pushes the SAT, but I seem to know more when I go through ACT practice exams than the SAT.

I don’t like the vocab sections for the SAT. How did you determine that margin of error? I don’t care about the error because I had a higher score than the SAT.

Uh, an 1840 on the New SAT is “really low”?

1MX, out of curiousity, what state you from? I live in Illinois and we do ACT workshops and some practice on ACT. Almost no one in my grade takes the SAT and half of the kids in my class don’t know what it is.

lol, that’s sad…anyways, i was wondering…when people mention the “real ACT” book are they talking about the McGraw-Hill one wth 10 ACT tests.

No. the Real ACT prep boook is the red one with three actual administered tests…

Is the 10 test one that helps everyone improve like 5 points, or is the 3 test one the one that helps everyone?

I’m from michigan.

nhsharvard is just resentful that he/she wants to go to harvard and scored a 1640. if your school really was pushing the SAT, then you would do better on it. For example. Our school disctrict and a neighboring school district have the exact same ACT averages for the top 10%. They push the SAT bygiving SAT vocab starting in like 3rd grade; 95% of kids in my district don’t even know what the SAT is. The top 10% of SAT scores is 200 points higher in theirs than in ours. The SAT is a VERY study-able? test

The real test prep… the 3 test has halped myself and alot of people i know improve scores…but it wouldnt hurt to get McGraw and the Real test prep book

My D got 35 on ACT, and has not taken SAT yet.(She will be senior this year.) Is it better to take a SAT at least once even though she can not get a high score(She doesn’t do well on parctice tests.), or is it OK to apply colleges only with her ACT score? I think most people take both tests, so I am not sure what colleges think about ONLY ACT score.
