Really need some insight! I've wanted to go to this school my whole life..

I currently applied to transfer to umass with 27 units for the spring semester. I have a 2.94 with an F incorporated, and a 3.25 if you remove the F ( I took the class over again and received an A- in it). I currently attend a state college in California.

My question is if I am at the same standing as a kid from a JC? Do I need to complete my GE before even getting my hopes up? Or do I have a chance because I currently attend a 4 year institution? Does applying for the spring semester effect my chances?

I also sent them my SAT scores (1780) and wrote a solid essay in which I own up to my past mistakes, such as the F. Can someone chance me?

bumping for help

Sorry, I don’t know much about the transfer side of things.

I did find this:

[Transfer Admission](Transfer Admission)

This would seem to indicate that if you have exactly 27 credits, they will not require a HS transcript. You will have to ask UMass to be sure.

As for your chances, I don’t really have a feel for the transfer side of things. The web site says this about transfer students:

So maybe they will ignore your F and give you the benefit of the doubt. Call and ask them what they will do.
