This semester, I think I have a D in my Virtual High School course, which is a political science class. Virtual High School offers classes through the internet, but it’s really easy to slack off (as i’ve noted.)
I’m a sophomore, and the rest of my grades are decent, with mostly A’s and a few B+'s… how could this affect my chances to be competitive at top LACs and Ivies? It’s the last day of the semester today, and I’ve done everything that I can to redeem myself, but I think I’m going to end up with a 60 semester average at best.

I’ve never met a more rude and belligerent person on CC. Clearly a great minority of students have taken a virtual course, and this would add to its already available prestige.

hey I got a D in honors algebra II and a C in Honors Chem in 10th grade. I not going to let that bother me in applying to UNC, GA tech, and emory. Shoot high and then worry about it later. Just make sure you have a safety like you would even if you didn’t have a D. There is no point in wondering if you get in when you have not applied yet. Just don’t make that same mistake again.

The fact that it was an elective class means more then likely its going to get kicked out of your transcipt when colleges look at it.
